Charlton: Roger E. Vasas, 74, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, April 22 ^nd , after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 47 years, Linda E. (Wilson) Vasas; son, Sean Vasas and his wife Vicki of Warwick, RI; daughter, Elyssa Wood and her husband Christopher of Waterford, VA; cherished grandchildren, Avery and Cooper Wood; sister, Faith D. Willinsky and her husband Willie of Portage, PA; mother-in-law, Joyce Wilson of Charlton; beloved sisters and brothers-in law, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.  Roger was born in Johnstown, PA the son of George and Elizabeth Vasas.  He attended Franklin Pierce College undergrad, and received his master's degree from Anna Maria College.  He taught in the Health Sciences department of Becker College for 33 years prior to retirement, and was proud to educate countless nurses and physical therapists over the years.  Roger had a passion and love for building community and helping others, and always took the time to help a family member or friend with a project or to just sit and listen.  Roger was a devout Catholic and faithful member of St. Joseph's church in Charlton.  Roger loved nature and could often be found fishing, working in his garden, or playing a round of golf with his dear friends.

Calling hours in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, will be held on Friday, May 6 ^th , from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

A funeral Mass for Roger will be held on Saturday, May 7th, at 11:00am in St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton.  Burial in West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton will be private.
