Southbridge: Rosa Arsinoe Alvarez, 78, of South St., passed away on Monday, April 29th, in the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, after a long illness.

Her husband, Dionisio Sanchez, passed away in 2008.  She leaves her three sons, Dion Sanchez and his wife Susanna of Southbridge, Roberto Sanchez of Puerto Rico and Joseomar Sanchez of  Southbridge; her daughter, Yadira Sanchez of Puerto Rico; her two brothers, Dr. Josedictelio Alvarez of Dominican Republic and Luis Alfonso Alvarez of Dominican Republic; her close friend, Reina Rivera of Connecticut; her granddaughter, Dianis Sanchez and her companion Nicholas Maesly of Auburn; her great grandson Sawyer Doherty; and several nieces and nephews.  She was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic the daughter of Pablo Alvarez and Idalia Cepeda.

Rosa was a self employed sales rep for cosmetics and apparel companies for many years.  Above all she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Rosa's burial in the Dominican Republic will be private.  There are no calling hours.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
