Westfield/Southbridge: Rose M. (Hudec) Gaumond, 95, of Caitlin Way, passed away on Wednesday, June 29th, in Westfield Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation, Westfield, after an illness.

Her beloved husband, Francois Gaumond died in 1975.  She leaves her daughter, Gail A. Lagoditz and her partner Roger Benard of Westfield; three grandchildren, Nicholas Lagoditz, Michell Gaumond and Elizabeth Gaumond; and many nieces and nephews.  Rose was predeceased by her son, Frank E. Gaumond; her brother, John Hudec; her five sisters, Margaret Kruegar, Agatha Werstak, Anne Strank, Veronica Jolicoeur and Stella Borawski.

Rose was born in Dudley the daughter of Gaspar and Veronica (Kasik) Hudec.  She worked for 10 years as a lens worker for United Lens in Southbridge as well as JI Morris in Southbridge for many years prior to retiring many years ago.  Rose enjoyed going out with friends, walking, reading and playing Bingo.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 6th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will be private.   A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Wednesday, July 6 ^th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to the Mass.
