Obituary

Samuel Boyd, a loving father and grandfather, entered his rest.  Sam comes from a family that has called Massachusetts home since the Mayflower.   Adopted by the Nipmuc people by marriage to his wife Lois.  Sam proudly served in Vietnam and Korea with the Army 1st Cavalry Division.  Settling into civilian life he did trucking and learned welding with his uncle Everett a.k.a. Sandy at Herrick's Welding.  Sam was able to pass his knowledge of welding to his namesake and this brought him much joy.

Those who knew him will remember his great sense of humor.  A great man who worked hard to provide for his family.  A man who wants to be remembered as the husband of Lois, the father to Sheila and Sammy, the awesome grandpa to Hunter, Mikey Dude, Tippy Toes and Zabi.

In the words famously spoken by Sam "this will now cost you five dollars"

Services for Samuel will be private. There are no calling hours.

Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge is directing the arrangements.
