Stuart, FL / Southbridge: Sandra S. (Dukes) Tortis, 73, formerly of Southbridge, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 17 ^th , after a brief battle with cancer.

She leaves her beloved husband of 38 years, Antonio "Tony" Tortis; her son, William C. "Billy" Smith and his wife Rene of Melbourne, FL; her two daughters Kimberley A. Ferron and her husband John of Southbridge and Erica L. Tortis of Worcester; her four grandchildren, Nathan Ferron of Sturbridge, Kaitlin Sullivan of Florida, Kassidy Burns of Phenix, AL and Julia Ferron of Brookline; her nephew, Christian Ebeyer of England; her niece, Ingrid Walker of England and her children, Joeh and Oliver; and several other nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, June Ebeyer.  Sandra was born in London, England the daughter of Charles F. and Florence G. (Everard) Dukes.

Sandra worked in regulatory affairs for Clinical Instruments International Inc. in Southbridge for 8 years, before retiring several years ago.

Sandra above all had a deep love for her family and their happiness and wellbeing was the very fiber of her being.

A funeral Mass for Sandra will be held on Friday, Sept. 25 ^th , at 11:00am in the Notre Dame Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main St., Southbridge.  Burial will follow in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge.  There are no calling hours.

A Celebration of Life in Stuart, FL will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
