Warren - Som Donesing, 101, of Warren died at home on Wednesday, March 27th,  surrounded by his family.

Som was predeceased by his wife, Bunla Donesing in 2005.  Som is survived by his 7 children, Thim Donesing of Thailand, Nongnhao Ounsayanh and her husband Aroun Ounsayanh of Warren, Samlane Donsing of Las Vegas, NV, Phyvan Boonsiri of Las Vegas, NV; Sengchanh Chung of Shrewsbury, Somsanith Donesing of Las Vegas, NV, and Phetsomphou Donesing and his wife Maria Valle of Shrewsbury. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Som was born on September 2, 1922 in Phibun Mangsahan Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand.  He lived in Thailand until 1981 when he immigrated to the United States and settled in San Diego, CA.  In 1983, he moved to Fresno, CA, where he worked in agriculture.  Despite the struggles of being an immigrant, he was proud that he accomplished bringing all his children to the United States. He enjoyed spending time with his family; sharing stories of Thailand with his grandchildren; playing dice with his friends; and listening to Thai country music; and he was always interested in Thai politics.  Later in his life, he moved to Las Vegas, NV, and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the desert.  In 2022, he moved to Massachusetts.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton Street, Southbridge.  A cremation service will follow at All Faiths Crematory, 9 Island St., Worcester, MA 01603.
