Southbridge: Southbridge: Walter L. Miller, 74, of Southbridge, passed away on Saturday, May 14th in UMass – Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge after a brief illness.

He leaves his son, Brian E. Miller and his wife Karen of Iowa; his two daughters, Kim E. Stanton and her husband John of Virginia and Carrie J. Hourigan and her husband Kevin of South Carolina; his two brothers, Marvin A. Miller and his wife Martha of Southbridge and Mark S. Miller and his wife Judy of Dudley; his sister, Deborah Wentworth and her husband William of Southbridge; his nine grandchildren, two great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Southbridge the son of the late Alexander L. and Helen A. (Ryczek) Miller.  Walter graduated from Tantasqua High School and worked as a Truck Driver for Southbridge Trucking for many years, as well as Mayflower.

Wally will be remembered as a hard-working, honest, and proud man with a huge heart. He was well known in the community and had many friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a passion for baseball and was a dedicated Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed the outdoors, playing scrabble, doing crosswords, reading, and playing bridge at the Polish Club. Wally, as he was known by many, will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service for Wally will be held on Friday, June 3rd, at 11:00am in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge.  Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Friday, June 3 ^rd , from 9:00 to 11:00am, prior to the service.
