Brimfield: Walter P. "Walt" Ohop, 73, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, June 9 ^th .

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Kathleen M. (McDonnell) Ohop; his daughter, Jennifer M. Ohop and her husband Glenn D. Clark of Holland.  He also leaves his sister-in-law, Judith A. McDonnell of Brimfield; his brother, James Ohop of Lyndonville, VT; his four sisters, Judith Siegmund of Webster, Nancy Ohop of Sturbridge, Cynthia Antos of Southbridge,  Kathy Gonzalez of Southbridge and nephews and nieces.  He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald J. Ohop and his sister Dorothy Ohop.

He was born in Southbridge the son of Walter C. and Cecelia (Wawrzyniak) Ohop.  Walter graduated from Cole Trade High School in Southbridge and worked at TJMaxx Corp. for many years in Machine Maintenance before retiring. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea on the DMZ in the Signal Corps.  He loved nature, was a talented craftsman, an avid gardener, and was well known for his generosity with tomatoes.  He will be sorely missed.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 21 ^st , from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 247 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will be private.  A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, June 21st, from 9:30 to 10:30am, prior to the Mass.
